Farmhouse Kings Cross
Farmhouse Kings Cross is like a teeny tiny food house where grown-ups go to eat fancy food, but it feels like someone’s mum cooked it, but like… extra fancy. The place is small-small, like if you sneeze too big you might hit the wall. People sit together like one big pretend family even if they don’t know each other, but it’s okay because the food is yummy and nobody cries (I think).
They don’t have a giant menu with 900 things. Nope. They say, “We cook THIS today, you eat THIS today.” It’s called a set menu, which is like when your mum gives you dinner and says “no choosing.” But theirs changes every few weeks because they wanna be all fancy-pants and surprise people like peek-a-boo food.
You can only go there at special times because they are not open all the time like McDonald’s. They open at night mostly, and you have to BOOK A SEAT because the place is tiny like a shoebox but with chairs. If you don’t book, you don’t eat. Simple.
They also have wine but you can’t bring your own wine bottle because they say “NO NO NO BYO” like a teacher telling you no snacks in class.
The chefs don’t hide in the kitchen—they come out and talk to you like “hello, here is your food, please eat it,” and everyone is like “wow so fancy” even though it feels like a dinner party at a friend’s house who wears nice shirts.
They even make food you can take home so you can pretend you are eating at their restaurant but actually you’re at home in pajamas watching cartoons.
So basically:
Farmhouse Kings Cross = small cute food house where grown-ups eat surprise fancy food and act like one big pretend family.
